Micke Björklöf, Lefty Leppänen, and Chef Kivimäki form a unique acoustic power trio that has been thrilling audiences for over 25 years. Virtuoso instrumentals, powerful three-part harmonies, and infectious stage energy make them one of Finland’s most exciting blues and roots music ensembles.
Their music blends authentic blues elements with roots, rock, soul, and gospel—always in an original and distinctive way. The band’s hallmarks include masterful slide guitar, a suitcase drum set, skillful harmonica playing, and inventive original compositions.
The trio has performed at nearly all major Finnish blues festivals and on many international stages. They were the first Finnish artist to perform at the Dark Season Blues Festival in Svalbard and have represented Finland at both the International Blues Challenge in Memphis (semi-finalists) and the European Blues Challenge in Berlin.
Their latest album, “Live On Air,” produced in collaboration with Deutschlandfunk radio, reached No. 10 on the Roots Music Report Acoustic Albums Top 40 chart in the U.S. and has received extensive radio airplay across Europe.
