Born in Augusta, Georgia, in 2001, Sean “Mack” McDonald is one of the most brilliant African-American musicians of his generation.
He clearly possesses that special “X-factor” of the great blues masters, combined with superb technical skills as both a singer and a guitarist.
McDonald’s stylistic range is broad, encompassing blues, gospel, R&B, rock ’n’ roll, soul, and jazz—all of which he performs with an astonishingly effortless ease.
During his relatively short career, Sean has already performed at The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, a gathering of the blues world’s elite, and at many major festivals in both the U.S. and Europe.
Legends such as Taj Mahal, Kim Wilson, and Kid Andersen have said they see him as the torchbearer of the blues.
